We pride ourselves on establishing great relationships with our cheerleaders and players through intentional actions. We ensure our youth know and understand that us spending time together is bigger than just sports. We strive to establish a mentorship and interactive relationship that pushes our youth to be the best version of themseves.

We ensure that our teams feel supported and the crowd is energetic and excited!  We are a diverse performance groups including dancers and gymnasts  with high-energy, hip hop-based choreography incorporating tricks, stunts,  and visuals.

We are an oganization with a rich history going back to 1973 with 50 uninterrupted years. We pride ourselves on the numerous  high school, college, and NFL players and cheerleaders we have produced in that time. The love from the SCB family is truly amazing and garners a feeling that is undeniable. 

Football

Age Groups and Season Length

The St. Charles Bears offer a complete youth football program for athletes ages 3–14. Our flag football program is designed for ages 3–5, while tackle football is available for ages 6–14, with teams organized by age groups including 6U, 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, and 13U. 


An athlete’s age is determined based on their age as of August 1st. 


The official football season runs from July through mid-November, while unofficial, free workouts are available beginning in March to help athletes prepare for the season ahead.

Our Focus

St. Charles Bears Football is built on skills, teamwork, and safety. Players are taught strong fundamentals, position-specific techniques, and game understanding to support continuous growth and confidence on the field.


We emphasize teamwork, respect, and accountability, helping athletes learn how to communicate, support one another, and work toward shared goals—skills that extend beyond football.


Player safety is our top priority. Coaches teach proper techniques, promote safe practices, and foster a culture where health, conditioning, and injury prevention come first.

Equipment

St. Charles Bears Football provides essential equipment for all registered players. Helmets, shoulder pads, practice pants and jerseys, mouthpieces, game socks, and individualized game jerseys are included with registration to ensure consistency and safety across the program.


Families are responsible for purchasing cleats and any optional accessories such as gloves, arm sleeves, or additional protective gear. Coaches will share guidance to help families select appropriate items for the season.

Cheer

Age Groups and Season Length

St. Charles Bears Cheer offers a complete youth cheer program for athletes ages 3–14, designed to support sideline cheer, skill development, and team spirit alongside our football program. Cheer teams are organized by age to ensure developmentally appropriate instruction and positive experiences.


An athlete’s age is determined based on their age as of August 1st.


The official cheer season runs from July through mid-November, aligning with the football season. Optional, free preseason workouts may be offered beginning in the spring to help athletes build foundational skills and prepare for the upcoming season.

Our Focus

St. Charles Bears Cheer is built on skill development, teamwork, and safety. Athletes learn age-appropriate cheer fundamentals including motions, chants, jumps, coordination, and performance skills while building confidence and pride in their team.


We emphasize teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, encouraging athletes to support one another, communicate effectively, and represent the Bears with positivity on and off the field.


Safety is a top priority. Coaches focus on proper technique, conditioning, and safe practice routines to promote athlete well-being and injury prevention throughout the season.

Equipment

St. Charles Bears Cheer provides a rental of the official cheer uniform as part of registration to ensure consistency and team identity throughout the season. The uniform rental includes the cheer midriff, cheer lollipops, cheer socks, and official St. Charles Bears cheer bow.


Families are responsible for purchasing cheer shoes and any optional accessories such as additional bows, warm-ups, or extra apparel. Coaches will share guidance to support families in selecting appropriate items for the season.

2026 Workout Schedule - Beginning in March

Location: Mary B. Neal Elementary School

Strength & Conditioning Focus
Workouts emphasize age-appropriate strength, agility, speed, balance, and overall conditioning to prepare athletes for the demands of the season.


Skill-Building Through Movement
Athletes develop coordination, body control, endurance, and confidence through structured drills and stations.


Team Culture & Discipline
Workouts reinforce accountability, effort, focus, and teamwork in a positive and motivating environment.


Safety & Proper Technique
Coaches prioritize proper form, hydration, rest, and injury prevention at all times.

Workout Structure & Schedule

Saturday Workouts
Workouts are held on Saturdays through Daylight Savings Time to maximize daylight and ensure safe training conditions.


Expanded Weekly Schedule
Once Daylight Savings Time begins, additional weekday workouts are added to increase consistency and progression.


Season Preparation
Sessions are designed to gradually build fitness levels and prepare athletes physically and mentally for practices and games.


Age-Appropriate Training
Exercises are modified by age group to ensure developmentally appropriate expectations and success for all athletes.
